L’Ecurie 360

L’Ecurie 360, an immersive video installation created for the dance company Manon fait de la danse will be presented as part of SAT Fest at Société des Arts Technologiques. Screenings will take place between Wednesday and Saturday, from March 21 until April 28, 2012. The project was created, as part of a Labodome residence, specifically for SAT state of the art 360 immersive environment.

This piece is an adaptation of Manon Oligny’s choreographic installation L’Ecurie. Interpreted by Karina Iraola, Anne Lebeau, Mathilde Monnard. Music by Gilles Brisenois. Graphics by Simon Laroche. Scenography by Yannick MacDonald.

The Body Parlor

Video Adaptation of a performance piece created by Katrina Chamberlin and James Kubie.

In The Body Parlor, both man and sheep as combined sacrificial bodies become subjects of biological investigation. In discovering new forms of health care (regenerative medicine) and tissue engineering (such as stem cell research), the body becomes sacrificial material for the greater purpose of a social good. The performers employ the material objects, either as products of or as extensions of the body as a way of exploring giving from one’s self in sacrifice.

We are blinded by an exaggerated preoccupation with ourselves and an overdevelopment of the ” I ” and we are centered on an obsessional theme: to achieve success. Never give up, never lose, these are the leitmotiv of a society that teaches us to be in shape, to be on top.
